BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR recognizes a for-profit business leader who has demonstrated success in both civic and professional areas, specifically in the areas of growth, leadership, achievement and community service.
ROBERT CAUMMISAR COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD is named for the former executive secretary of the Chamber who distinguished himself by his tireless support of our community and it’s many civic organizations. It is given to one who has excelled in work and accomplishments for the community of Grayson the previous year.
DEANNA MCDAVID EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD is named in honor of an East Carter teacher who displayed fearless devotion to her students and their success. Recipients of this award promote active learning and successfully encourage students to think imaginatively, critically, and independently.
RODNEY T. GROSS YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD is named for a distinguished long-time Grayson veterinarian. It is awarded to a person, 22 years of age or younger who has excelled in leadership and volunteerism.
DEBORAH MEENACH COMBS COMMUNITY SPARK PLUG AWARD is presented in memory of a dedicated teacher who inspired Grayson’s Hometown Holidays. It rewards an individual for vision, initiative and leadership in creating a project for the betterment of the community.
ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR AWARD recognizes an individual for innovations, business accomplishment and success. Candidates for this award will be judged on business strategies, financial success, and community involvement.
KEYSTONE OF GRAYSON AWARD is considered the Grayson Chamber’s Hall of Fame. It honors individuals who have contributed to the business, civic, educational or spiritual life of the Grayson area for a decade or more on a regular, consistent basis.
Nominations should include contact information for the nominee and should describe the nominees qualities, examples of service to community and impacts of their leadership and involvement.
