Saturday, December 6th Beginning at 5:30 PM - Main Street, Grayson, KY
PARADE REGISTRATION FOR THIS YEAR IS CLOSED
Rules and Information:
Lineup for the parade begins at 4:30 PM at Michelle Wilhoit's State Farm Insurance Office located 603 West Main Street. Traffic on US 60 & downtown will be limited to local traffic. Because most of East Main will be closed off prior to the parade we ask that you enter the parade lineup from the West end of town. We recommend entering from the west end of 60. Parade line-up volunteers will be assisting in lining up everyone, please know your position in the parade upon arrival. It will be posted to the Chamber website here and The Chamber FB page prior to Saturday, December 6th. Because the Christmas parade traditionally ends with Santa, we ask that no other float contain a Santa Claus character.
PLEASE REMEMBER that due to safety concerns we ask that you DO NOT throw candy or any items from a parade entry. We ask that you provide walkers on both sides of the street to hand out or gently toss candy at the feet of those watching from the side of the road. You will be reminded of this during the line up.
Please leave about a 2 car space between you and the entry in front of you throughout the procession.
You will be stopping at the Gazebo next to Veterans Park for a brief introduction from the announcers and a chance to show off your entry. For floats with numerous walkers, there will be areas to drop off walkers (to cut down on walking distance & traffic congestion) & meet up with floats as they pass by.
The parade officially ends at Giovanni's at the corner of Main Street & Carol Malone Blvd. Please follow legal traffic instructions at that point. Because there is literally no time nor space to switch out drivers at the end of the parade, all drivers of any entry are required to have a valid driver's license and may be asked to produce it by parade officials.
Last but not least, HAVE FUN!
