Nathana Hall was an integral part of the decision to keep our mother at home during her final year. Fully bedbound, in any other doctor’s care, she would have inevitably been required to spend her time in a short-staffed nursing home. She could only travel by gurney in an ambulance at this point, and due to staffing shortages, the transport services were limited to emergencies or dialysis only. We could not get her to see a doctor when it was needed. I can’t recall who referred us to her, but I wish I could so that I could thank them. Nathana was knowledgeable, kind, and available. She would answer a text message quickly and get out to see mom sooner than one would expect. She was able to arrange care I never expected to get at home, such as the time mom had a mobile x-ray tech come to the home. Never did we feel like anything was missed that a typical MD could provide. Nathana became like family to my mom and to my sister living there as the primary caregiver. They were truly dependent on her and she was reliable in every way. She even accepted my sister as a patient, since she was also limited in her ability to travel to appointments. And to my surprise, she came to the visitation at the funeral home, and shed genuine tears for my mother’s memory.
